finally joining the blogging world

Well, I have been meaning to start a blog for a while but, as usually, have been a slacker about it. First off, I will write a general update of where we are and what we have been up to. Aaron and I moved with our son, Jackson to Idaho from northern Virginia in July 2008. Approximately, 2 weeks later, Abigail Aurora Balsmeier was born and spent about 1 month in the hospital due to being 7 weeks early. We lived with my parents until mid-October when we moved into our own house in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Aaron is working at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratories and as from what he tells me is liking his job there. Since the move, I have been staying home the the 2 kiddos (Jackson - 2 1/2 and Abigail - 9 months). I was suppose to have started a part time job at an urgent Care facility here in Idaho Falls but due to some circumstances beyond my control, they no longer have any hours for me to work - so I am once again looking for work.

It has been fun being so much closer to family then we were in Virginia but surprisingly, I do miss some things about there. I never though I would here myself say this, but I actually miss the traffic sometimes. I not sure why - maybe it was a thrill or sense of accomplishment for me to survive in it. I don't know. I also find myself missing the spring there, the cherry blossoms would have been out a month ago and looking so lovely and, of course, the temperatures would be warmer than here (we just had a big snow storm here today - on APRIL 26th!). I also miss the history and all the things there were to do around DC. But Aaron, Jackson and I all love our home here. We would have never been able to have the yard and home out in Virginia that we have here.

Well - this is a short first start but at least it is a start. I will post pictures soon.
